Louisiana offers a host of lucrative and business-friendly tax incentive programs for digital media and technology firms operating in the state. Even more attractive to entrepreneurs, some of the incentive programs are stackable. The Tech Park can help guide companies through the process of getting certified for the various programs. Some of the incentives applicable to technology companies include but are not limited to the following:

The Enterprise Zone (EZ) is a jobs incentive program that provides Louisiana income and franchise tax credits to a business hiring at least 35% of net, new jobs from one of four targeted groups.

The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program within the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is designed to ensure that the nation's small, high-tech, innovative businesses are a significant part of the U.S. Government's research and development efforts.

The Research and Development Tax Credit provides up to a 40% tax credit, to existing businesses with operating facilities in Louisiana to establish or continue research and develop in the state.

The Digital Interactive Media and Software Development Incentive provides a 35% tax credit for in-state labor, coupled with a 25% credit for eligible production.

The Angel Investor Tax Credit provides up to a 35% tax credit for individual investors who invest in early-stage, wealth creating businesses that seek start-up and expansion capital.

The Quality Jobs (QJ) program provides up to a 6% rebate on annual payroll expenses for up to 10 years and either a 4% sales/use tax rebate on capital expenses or a 1.5% investment tax credit for qualifying expenses.

The Technology Commercialization Tax Credit provides a 40% refundable tax credit for companies that invest in the commercialization of Louisiana technology and a 6% payroll rebate for the creation of new, direct jobs.
