COVID-19 Update

An Update on PitchBR and Tech Park Academy

from NexusLA and the Louisiana Technology Park

In an effort to prioritize the health and safety of the Baton Rouge community, NexusLA and the Louisiana Technology Park are postponing the upcoming PitchBR and Tech Park Academy events until further notice. We do not currently have a new date in place for these events, but we will make an announcement regarding their rescheduling in the near future. The decision to postpone these events has not been made lightly, as our pitchers and speakers have been preparing diligently, but our leadership has determined that a proactive response is in everyone’s best interest.

We would like to thank everyone who has registered for or bought a ticket to either event and for your support of our mission to connect entrepreneurs and bring high-quality functions to our community.  We sincerely hope you will join us for PitchBR and Tech Park Academy when these events resume. If you purchased a ticket to Tech Park Academy, it will be refunded in full. Please allow 5-7 days for the refund to post to your payment account.

We encourage everyone to prioritize health and safety for themselves and their loved ones at this time, as there are many unknowns related to this unprecedented situation. Wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds each time, limit physical contact (such as shaking hands), don’t touch your face, and avoid travel and large gatherings when possible. If you or someone in your family believes they may be exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, please call the Louisiana Department of Health at 211 or visit their website, or contact your doctor by phone. More information about COVID-19, including more health tips and general advisements can be found at: www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/

In the meantime, the Louisiana Technology Park remains fully operational and our team continues to serve our clients and the entrepreneurial community. For the safety of our staff and clients, we are converting in-person meetings to phone calls and web/teleconferences whenever possible until further notice.

We will continue to monitor the situation surrounding COVID-19 carefully, and will follow recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and the Louisiana Department of Health regarding anything that might impact our clients or our community, including future closures and event cancellations. Please follow us on Twitter and Facebook for timely updates regarding these matters.
